We are looking for energetic volunteers for our fun event. Hands on the Arts Festival activities will showcase cultures with hands-on art activities.

Volunteer at Hands on the Arts – A Sunnyvale Unity Event
When: May 11 (event) and May 10 (set up for event)
Where: Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive

What You'll Do

You will help the professional artists by organizing, prepping, re-stocking and cleaning-up supplies. You will also help kids with fun art projects. You may help with general customer service at the event.

We would prefer it if you could work a full day. But half-day shifts are also available.

Volunteer shifts include:

• Set-up (Friday, May 10 - DAY PRIOR TO EVENT): 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m.
• All-Day (Saturday, May 11): 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Lunch provided)
  • Morning Shift: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Afternoon Shift: noon to 5 p.m.

Register to Volunteer

You must preregister to volunteer. We can't accept walk-up volunteers on the day of the event.

You must be at least age 13 to volunteer.

Returning Volunteers

Have you volunteered with the City in the last 14 months? If yes, send us an email and include the following information:

• Phone Number
• Tell us if you are a Teen (13 to 17 years) or Adult
• Shift preference
• T-shirt size

Note: If you turned 18 since you last volunteered, follow the instructions for New Volunteers.

New Volunteers

2. Email us with the following information:

3. Get fingerprinted

Fingerprinting
If you are over 18 you must get fingerprinted before the event. Once we receive your application we will tell you how to schedule an appointment with the City. There is no cost to volunteers.

Deadline: May 3 is the last day to get fingerprinted for this event. 

Prep Parties

Volunteers are also needed to help prepare art supplies for the event. Typical Prep Party activities include counting, cutting, gluing and separating supplies. Currently scheduled prep parties are listed below. Additional dates may be added.

• Wednesday, April 10, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
• Thursday, April 25, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Saturday, April 27, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. 
• Monday, May 6, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
