Volunteer as a Kindness Ambassador at our Magical Bridge Playground. It’s located at Fair Oaks Park. As a volunteer, you'll support the safe and inclusive use for all visitors.

Kindness Ambassador Role

In your role, you will:

• Help visitors follow playground protocols.
• Interact with visitors and answer questions.
• Commit to building a more inclusive community.
• Support family-friendly events and activities on occasion.
• Promote playground safety.

You must be at least 18 years old to be a Kindness Ambassador Volunteer.

Commitment and Schedule

As a volunteer, you must work an average of two shifts per month over a six-month period. Volunteer shifts are two hours.

Available shifts are:

• Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m., 4 to 6 p.m.

Kindness Ambassador Training

You will need to complete the Kindness Ambassador Orientation. In the orientation, you will learn about:

• Magical Bridge Foundation mission and values
• City of Sunnyvale mission and values
• Volunteer responsibilities
• Playground protocols
• Disability awareness
• Inclusion information

Orientation Schedule: Virtual orientation (Zoom) takes place twice a month. The meetings are 30 minutes. Volunteer dates and times pending.

How to Apply

If you are a NEW VOLUNTEER with the City:

• Complete the Kindness Ambassador Volunteer application

If you are a RETURNING VOLUNTEER,* email Jessica Truong with your:

• Full name
• Phone number
• Shift preference

* You are a returning volunteer if you volunteered with the City within the last 18 months. We still have your volunteer application on file. You don’t need to resubmit it.
