On-call Curbside Collection for Extra Garbage

To dispose of carpets, electronics and other bulky items, residents of single-family homes can schedule an on-call curbside collection for extra garbage twice a year at no additional charge.

Extra Dumping Weekends

All Sunnyvale residents may dispose of garbage, concrete, demolition materials, tires and other non-hazardous materials at the Recycling Center (SMaRT Station®) at no additional charge during Extra Dumping Weekends held in the spring and fall.

Extra Garbage Bag Tags

Single-family residents with extra garbage that does not fit inside their cart can purchase a garbage tag for $6 and place an additional bag of garbage per tag curbside for pick up.

To use the extra tag:

• Bag the extra garbage in 35-gallon or smaller plastic bag.
• Keep the maximum bag weight under 30 pounds.
• Stick the tag on the front of the bag with the tag facing the street.
• Place curbside for pick up on your collection day.

Garbage placed inside cardboard boxes will not be collected.
