Perform exercises that are effective and easy to follow to lively, motivating music. No swimming skills required. Bring your own pool noodles and aqua dumbbells.
Deep Water Fitness
Discover high-intensity water exercise with zero impact. This 50-minute deep-water workout includes warm-up, stretching, interval training and conditioning sets. Class builds strength and incorporates cardiovascular fitness in a fun and safe environment. Flotation belts required for this intermediate/advanced workout.
Ai Chi
This aqua relaxation program uses a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements in flowing continual patterns to relax in water. Balance and chronic conditions have also been shown to improve from these movements as well.
Aqua Yoga
Aqua yoga can help develop strength, static balance, and increase range of motion. The water environment allows the greatest stretching to help relieve body tension. Use Aqua Yoga to help heal stiffness and muscle pain, as well as decrease anxiety and stress. No prior yoga knowledge required. Bring your own pool noodle.
Water Walking
Use water to build strength and endurance while moving in all directions at your own pace. Water walking can help those with mobility difficulties, back pain or joint replacements. Practice proper mechanics while bearing only 25% of your weight. Start your walking program right at the edge of the pool using the walk-in entry at the Washington Park Pool. No swimming skills or equipment required.
