Adopt-A-Park aims to enhance the quality of our parks through community sponsorship and volunteer service. The program, managed by the City's Parks Division, offers local groups and organizations an active role in helping the City provide clean and safe parks.

Who is eligible?

Community groups, service clubs, schools, faith-based organizations, neighborhood associations and youth groups are welcome to get involved.

What is the time commitment?

Minimum one-year agreement, renewable at the end of the period.

Groups are asked to complete 250 hours of service, with a minimum of four volunteer days in the adopted park.

What types of activities do volunteers perform?

  • Plant flowers, native plants, trees
  • Rake leaves
  • Stain bridges, benches
  • Remove graffiti
  • Spread mulch
  • Clean playgrounds
  • Pick up litter
  • Paint
  • Special projects

Does the volunteer group receive recognition?

After 150 hours of service, the City will place a sign at the adopted park bearing the name of the adopting group.
